Sometimes, passion and adrenaline get the better of us and we act before we think. If you're a passionate sort of person, you've probably flown off the handle a few times and landed yourself in a mess you didn't see coming because of it. And maybe you're tired of cleaning up the mess while munching on yet another helping of humble pie... I know I am!
This Tarot spread is a spread you can do any time your Guardian Angel taps your shoulder and says, 'Hey, take a Time Out and get your head straight before you act.' Any time you feel in overwhelm emotionally or at risk of getting pulled into someone else's drama, the voice of fear drowns out the voice of reason. The trick is to become very still and listen - The Tarot can help us do this.
The purpose of this spread is to help you align your gut with your heart and mind under the guidance of your Higher Self. You can use any deck for this spread but I have chosen to work with the Angel Tarot Cards by Doreen Virtue and for the voice of Higher Self, I have chosen to work with the wonderful Earth Magic Oracle by Steven Farmer.
It is quite helpful to work with a deck like the Angel Tarot Cards which has writing on each card when doing a reading for self about an emotionally charged situation, as it can sometimes be difficult to connect with the images and psychic guidance. The words then function as portals to deeper wisdom - especially with a deck aimed at providing angelic guidance!
So let's break this down:
Gut - What is triggering your reactivity and getting the adrenaline pumping. Crossing card: the challenge, what you need to accept in order to calm down.
Heart - Where your heart is struggling to align with compassion and kindness to self and others. Crossing card: what you need to let go of in order to align and keep your heart open.
Mind - What you are aware of. Crossing card: What you are unaware of.
Divine Guidance - Information from Higher Self that will help you align
Before you lay the cards out, do take a minute to ground and centre. Light a candle and focus on your breath for a minute. Say a prayer or proclaim that you are aligning with your Higher Self for the purpose of this reading. Intention is very important here.
After contemplating the cards in stillness, see if you can receive a positive affirmation from your Higher Self to use specifically when dealing with the situation at hand. Write the affirmation down and put it on your altar or in a special box until the situation has been resolved.
