~ Henry Miller
Toward the end of 2011 I did 'meddle in the affairs of others' - I had the best intent in the world... to defend a couple of friends within the online Tarot community who felt victimised by Janet Boyer. What I realise now is that I only had snippets of the story. And even if I had known the full story, it was none of my business. I did write a couple of posts on the subject that I took down quite a while ago. Still - they shouldn't have been written in the first place. Or at least not by me since I was pretty clueless about the real dynamics at play and realise now that I was quite heavily manipulated.
Janet, please accept my apology.
The people in the Tarot community that we need to be wary of are not people who are outspoken but the ones that play the game of politics and those who like to appear to never be ruffling any feathers.
Best of luck with the Snowland Tarot - it looks pretty amazing!
Sincerly,

Well said Lisa.
Thank you, Sharyn.
Hi Lisa,
I stumbled onto your post via my blog trackbacks. :o)
Thank you very much for your public apology; it takes a big person to do something like this. I absolutely forgive you.
Sadly, you weren't the only one being manipulated, as I'm sure you know. Hopefully, your brave act signals the beginning of individuals starting to wake up, ask questions, search out the truth and make amends.
Bless you, Dear One. (And thank you for your kind words about our Snowland Deck, too!) XO
Thank you, Janet :) xo
Lisa,
It took a lot of nerve, and no small amount of class and personal character to mea culpa this in public. Reputation-wise it probably would have just been easier to get naked in public (see "Janet Jackson"). Personally I am not aware of the events that transpired and I have no interest in churning the past for leftover bits drama, but as a fellow author author and teacher I want to extend my sincere support to you and my appreciation for expressing such grace and character in the all-too-often puerile world of "tarot experts." When I set out to write Advanced Tarot Secrets I had most of the book already completed in my head but thought it would be good for the tarot community if I collaborated with other famous tarot authors; a unification of ideas. I was promptly informed by a few "experts" (no names need to be mentioned) that if I had anything at all to do with Janet Boyer I would be blacklisted, and they would noty be allowed to speak to me in public. I had no idea who Janet was or her "horrific offense," but the idea that *I* would receive a scarlet letter, despite the veracity of my teachings--simply for knowing some other author and deck designer, filled me with disgust for the clique. I decided then and there to avoid the "in crowd" and continue to stick to writing books and teaching my students. Lisa, I doubt many others possess the stones you have exhibited in "owning up and moving on." Our area of expertise implies that we are at least attempting a conscious evolution, and you seem to be the "one" who has publicly shown proof of that. I cannot overstate my admiration for what you have done and I wish you every bit of success and popularity (from the people who count--our students and clients) over many lifetimes. Whatever this event was will soon be ancient history, but you have just proven yourself to be a person worth praise and respect. BB and Namaste
Yes, I agree with the outspoken-ness. It's the "quiet" ones that you should be wary of!
Cheers Mar :)
Oh, Lisa, good for you and Janet!
Compassion and forgiveness are the most beautiful flowers in the "love garden".
Thank you, Aurora :)
I agree, Aurora. I'm very happy!
That is quite surprising... I have never heard
of that before reading your post!
It makes me quite puzzled and angry too!
