| Mini Lisa Lenormand - Decanate Timing on Cards |
I also wanted to talk about a couple of different timing systems I am learning to use with the Lenormand and show you how they link to the 36 Tarot Minors in the decanate timing system. (see list below)
Which timing system do you use that works? Do you have a particular spread for timing in the Lenormand or do you pull just one card to get the timing of a particular event you've been reading on?
The two sample cards above are from the Mini Lisa Lenormand (not available for download). I decided to go with the decanate system on these cards for simplicity. Earlier today, I ordered a test print run of two decks to see if it will work. I think it would be ideal to have a slightly smaller deck to use on top of a standard sized one for mobile houses readings. Let me know if you would be interested in purchasing a copy of this deck.
Now that I have finally added borders and titles to the two Lennies I created last spring, I can get back to completing the Arcturian Tarot. I do get off on tangents occasionally... but I have to go with the flow of inspiration and unfortunately it isn't always linear. I do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Interesting idea to use decanates for the Lenormand cards. If I understood decanates, I'd probably take this up, as it makes a lot more sense to me than most other systems, bringing a reading into the space of a year.
As for me, I rarely use timings, but in the Celtic Lenormand there will be 8 cards attributed to the 8 spokes of the Wheel of the Year - so you can do a Nine Square (or just read around them), to look at what will be going on at any particular time of the year :)
It's not complicated, Chloe. I find that the decans and the planetary rulers add a LOT to my Tarot readings and I'm interested to see if the same will happen with the Lennies... Although it will be different as some of the symbols are a really terrible fit! It will take a lot of lateral thinking... something my brain likes to do :)
Can't wait for the Celtic to come out!!
I get that the decans are fairly simple, once you know where to start. However, I've never learnt much astrology, and don't have a hook to hang them on, so to speak...
I notice, too, that in your timings, you haven't stuck to the decan's timing - for example with the Heart. Once again, I think that if your system works for you, that's brilliant. And if you put the decans on the cards themselves, that would make it easier for an astrological novice like myself ;)
I'd be lost without Astrology! So many hooks for Tarot come from knowledge of the Zodiac. I'll let you in on a secret: I use two systems for timing in readings with the Tarot - both Astrology and a system which is based on the speed of the energy moving through the Element + the number on the card. For any given reading, I go with the one that seems the best fit. I know having two systems would do a lot of people's heads in but it works for me! I'm guessing that's the way I'll go with the Lenormand too :D
Also, I do like to set the time frame with the spread itself... so I guess you can say I use three different systems.
You gave me an idea for checking timing, doing a 9 square around one of the decans but using a different deck so that the same card can show up too. That would mean absolute certainty around the timing... as would the Key showing up!
