"I never really understood the word ‘loneliness’. As far as I was concerned, I was in an orgy with the sky and the ocean, and with nature."~ Björk
The Wild Unknown is one of those deck that you begin ohhh-ing and ahhh-ing over as soon as you open the outer packaging. The sturdy box arrived carefully wrapped in black tissue paper. A bonus print of the 6 of Wands with a lovely blue butterfly greeted me and made me smile with delight...
...as did the black ribbon inside the Tarot box.

Being one to normally go for quite bright and colourful decks and not having done a reading with this deck yet, I was very much looking forward to what the Wild Unknown would reveal to me about himself and our possible collaboration.

Wild Unknown Tarot: Bringer of clarity (6 of Swords)
Me: Yes, I can see how the artwork serves to cut out any distracting thoughts.
2. How would your best friend describe you using only three words?
Wild Unknown Tarot: Successful and strong-willed (The Chariot)
Me: I believe your friend might be onto something. You certainly seem to be in command of your domains which cover both the Tarot and Nature - and with style to boot!
Wild Unknown Tarot: *silence*
Me: You're going to make me do all the talking, aren't you? *nervous laughter*
Wild Unknown Tarot: *silence*
Me: Moving right along...
3. What gift do you bring? -
Wild Unknown Tarot: Poetic inspiration. (Son of Cups)
Me: I can see this already. This deck is a Beethoven Sonata compared to pop tunes of many of the decks churned out today.
4. What do you expect in return?
Wild Unknown Tarot: That you nurture your connection with Mother Nature. (Mother of Pentacles)
5. How can you help me serve?
Wild Unknown Tarot: I'm primarily a tool for transforming and transmuting negativity and stagnant emotions into positivity and new life. However, I will not do the work for you, nor will I spare you the pain of growth and transformation - I will make you understand the value of it instead. (8 of Swords)
6. Is there anything else you would like to tell me about yourself?
Wild Unknown Tarot: Unlike many of the decks out there, I provide crystal clear focus so be prepared to sharpen your questions - they will be more important than ever! Successful questions ---> answers worthy of celebration. (4 of Wands)
Thank you so much for this, Wild Unknown! It's been a pleasure getting to know you a bit better and I look forward to working with you, as well as strengthening my own connection with Nature.

This is such a "coincidence"! I bought this deck about 2 weeks ago. Im a beginner with Tarots and so far the deck that resonates most with me and always seems to have a good word for me is the Raider-Waite. But I loved the art of the Wild Unknown. Anyway to make it short: the first few days it was traumatic. I was nearly emailing you to ask how to deal with a difficult deck. It was very negative, and I would get scared of using it. Like you, I really benefit from and appreciate bright and colorful pictures and these are very different from what Im used to. But I hung on with it and started interviewing it like you do, and now I feel more relaxed. I have a feeling that this deck is very honest, and goes straight to the point. The first time I used it I was having a couple of very stressful days so I guess it reflected that. Im still weary when I use it but I feel better. I absolutely love the feel of it and the images.
I wanted to ask you if you have also purchased the separate booklet. I did, because Im new to tarots and need guidance. And some of the interpretations are a bit different from the conventional ones. They can be extremely negative or worrying or dark, that is probably why it made me feel scared.
Sorry for the long post....I was meaning to ask you about this deck and when I saw your post of FB today I couldn't not comment on it!
Knowing that you have it makes me feel better!!!!
Precious advice, thank you Lisa!
What an unusual and beautiful deck! Thanks for the review, Lisa!
You're welcome, Zanna! :)
