Being an artist is a process, not a state.
~ Monicka Clio Sakki
The Sakki Sakki Tarot is a deck I have wanted for years but time passed and it seemed like it wasn't meant to be. Other decks got priority and my desire for the Sakki Sakki was put on the back-burner but never completely forgotten.
Saturday evening, after the UK Tarot Conference, I finally made it to Watkins Books... (that's an experience worthy of a separate entry!) and who is there to greet me in the Tarot section, shouting 'Buy me!' as soon as I lay eyes on it but the Sakki Sakki?!
Boy, am I glad I listened! This deck is precious and fills me with joy every time I handle it. I spoke to a friend who was also a child in the 70's and he feels the same way. We both agree that the happy feeling is most likely due to the images reminding us of childhood TV cartoons.
The Artist card is extra to the normal 78 cards (see bottom right of collage at the top of the post). According to Monicka Clio Sakki, The Artist corresponds to Chiron, The Wounded Healer. In an Astrology chart, Chiron shows you how you help others in ways that you are unable to help yourself. This is such a lovely sentiment and a valuable tool in readings, not only to Artists but to anyone interested in using the Tarot holistically.

Boundaries Expert (for others, and only thanks to having struggled with it myself for most of my life)
2. How would your best friend describe you using only three words? - 3 of Swords:
Wounded Healer (duh!)
3. What gift do you bring? - Page of Cups:
Imagination and playfulness
4. What do you expect in return? - Queen of Wands:
Creative expression. Don't hold back on shining your light! You like to hide, don't you? Those days are over!!
5. How can you help me serve? - 5 of Swords:
Because I evoke childhood memories, I can help you resolve inner child conflicts.
6. Is there anything else you would like to tell me about yourself? - 4 of Cups:
Yeah, people sometimes accuse me of being a bit too laid back... but that's because I'm busy creating new worlds in my imagination. How else will you ever see anything new and innovative down here on the Earth plane?
Most of what you see was produced behind the curtain separating the Artist from the public... in various states of daydreaming and contemplation. Do not understimate the value of the no-thingness portion of the process!
Thank you for joining us today, Sakki Sakki! I look forward to working with you!
