Will The World End In 2012? - Asking The Tarot

Before I let the cards answer this question, I would like to refer to people who are in the know about the scientific side of things. NASA scientists answer questions about the various disasters that are rumoured to play a part in the supposed apocalypse HERE.

The short answer, of course, is 'No.' The world won't end in 2012. Certain people, some deluded and some with their own agenda, have done a lot to spread apocalyptic fear through the Internet. We may not be dealing with actual physical threats but we are dealing with fear-mongering and the effects of it - especially among the younger generation - those not old enough to have become cynical after the whole Y2K scare.

So if the world won't end, will anything at all change or is it 'same old, same old' in terms of our self-destructive ways and slow suicide as a race? Perhaps, if the latter is true, a swift, more dramatic ending would be preferable and perhaps this is the real reason why the so called 'Mayan Prophecy' has gained popularity all over the world. Collective Thanatos, anyone? Poor Mayans - they never even said the world would end just because their long count calendar did.

Some people dream of the dawning of a New Age on the 21st of December this year: A 'The lion shall lie down with the lamb' type scenario when all will be 'peace, love and understanding.'

Which will it be? When asked what will change and what is the best approach for us humans in view of this change, the Tarot gives it to us straight:

OK, so there is no denying that the 21st of December will be a date of some importance with two Majors showing up.

The Empress tells us that there will indeed be natural changes (a much better term than disasters) that affect us globally occurring on this day. Mother Nature opens a gateway and a new energy emerges. Something that will affect us all is being born this day. She wishes to take the opportunity to communicate with us all.

The wise will listen and make a decision on how to proceed from here. That the changes instigated by Mother Nature will be big enough for humanity on the whole to pay attention can't be doubted with Judgment signifying the best approach for us. Choices will have to be made - choices that will usher in a new era. Much of what no longer serves us will have to be left behind.

It will not be just another day, nor it will be the end. Something new begins. What choices will be made on the 2012 Winter Solstice? What are you choosing right now in order to make this planet habitable for future generations?
